Cheltenham Podiatry’s in-house regenerative therapy clinic offers a number of cutting-edge, drug free treatments all guided by high end ultrasound examinations.

Head podiatrist Jacqueline Kan is proud to be the first podiatrist in Melbourne to offer some of these therapies, such as platelet rich plasma

During a Prolotherapy treatment, natural solution is injected into damaged tissue, where it stimulates growth factors and regenerates ligaments, tendons and cartilage. It also improves nerve function, which assists in relieving pain.

We use two forms of Prolotherapy: Classical Hackett Prolotherapy and Lyftogt’s Perineural Prolotherapy.

A form of regenerative therapy also known as cold laser therapy or low-level light therapy, this treatment assists in the repair of skin, muscle, tendon, bone and nerve tissue while reducing inflammation and pain.

It works by increasing cellular energy and reducing oxidative stress. These effects have been well-documented in extensive clinical trials.

At Cheltenham Podiatry, our podiatrists are trained in Orthobiologic treatments by leading international experts, ensuring safe, sterile and effective technique. Injections are delivered via precise ultrasound guidance.

We offer Platelet Rich Plasma and Conditioned Serum (Cytokine Concentrate).

Nerve hydrodissection is a method used when treating nerve entrapments and other conditions. Using 5% dextrose or Platelet rich plasma, this helps separate the nerve from the surrounding tissue, fascia, or adjacent structures.

All is undertaken under ultrasound guidance for safety.

Nerve hydrodissection can be used to treat conditions including neuralgia, nerve entrapments e.g. peroneal nerve entrapment, saphenous nerve entrapment, medial calcaneal nerve entrapment and tarsal tunnel syndrome.

We introduced the latest state-of-the-art 3D laser-scanning technology to capture and display the unique shape and structure of your feet in seconds.

This approach ensures that you have an accurately measured custom orthotic insole with minimal inconvenience. Our professional podiatrists can recommend whether orthotics are right for you.

Finally a solution to the standard spa and pedicure services that fail to prevent cross infections. Here at Cheltenham Podiatry we are proud to introduce our tailor-made medical pedicure services carried out in our podiatry clinic with full sterilization and hygenic procedures by our podiatrists.

Podspa provides a luxurious pedicure utilizing the best ingredients and products all certified organic to provide you with the ultimate experience and luxury.

REhabilitation of sports injuries

After an injury, rehabilitation can be critical to getting back on your feet – or the sporting field.

Sports rehab aims to optimise the healing process while safely restoring joint mobility, range of motion, muscular strength and endurance to the affected area.

At Cheltenham Podiatry, we understand every injury and every individual is different.

We provide tailored comprehensive plans to assist in injury rehabilitation.

COMPRESSION THERAPY

Gravity can cause blood to pool in the lower body, leading to tired, achy legs, or serious problems such as phlebitis, varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis. Elevating the limb provides only temporary relief.

Compression therapy is effective, non-invasive and improves circulation. Compression therapy uses snug-fitting stockings to keep the pressure on the veins in the feet, ankles, and legs. The pressure forces fluid in the legs to move back into the blood vessels. When the swelling goes down, skin and surrounding tissues receive the oxygen and nutrition they need.

These supports reduce swelling and increase circulation, with the pressure being greater at the foot and ankle and decreasing as it goes up to the knee. Compression stockings and pads are designed to fit perfectly and exert just the right amount of pressure, forcing your blood through narrower channels. This increases pressure and causes more blood to return to the heart, which means less blood pooling in the feet. Compression therapy may also be helpful in treating varicose veins.

PARRAFIN FOOT THERAPY

Cheltenham Podiatry Melbourne now offers single-use paraffin wax treatments for arthritis and dry skin conditions. This thermotherapy is a modern, all-natural blend of Swiss Apple Stem Cells, grape seed oil, white and green tea, vitamin A, C and E, panthenol, B12, soy extracts and sorbitan stearate for antioxidant and nourishment support.

This combination is used to soften and smooth the skin, while the heat opens the pores. As with paraffin wax, it can be used to treat a variety of physical conditions, dry skin conditions and sports-related injuries.

This form of heat therapy treatment is beneficial for muscles ,joints, tendons and ligaments. For arthritic conditions, the treatment increases blood flow, improves joint stiffness and reduces pain. It can also be employed to treat bursitis, tendonitis, sprains and pulled muscles. Contact the Cheltenham Podiatry clinic for introductory offers!
